BADGER HILL SCOUT GROUP Maulden, Bedfordshire

There is always a camp in the school summer holidays, which all Scouts are strongly urged to attend.  Camps in recent years have been in Norfolk, the Forest of Dean, North Wales, and on Grand Union Canal boats, so we do get around.

The Scout uniform is: (Compulsory items in normal type, Optional in italics)

The Scout section is what the public generally think of as "Scouts", i.e boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 14.

Scouts have the full range of Scouting activities available, with a restriction on a few activities for which the minimum age is 14. In Badger Hill we try to cover as many activities as possible during the year, and our programme is largely based on what the Scouts themselves want to do, as long as we can stay within the rules and bring everyone back in one piece, leaders included.

We also run specific events for the older Scouts, Patrol leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders, which are geared more to the interests and abilities of older boys and girls, and are usually based on suggestions from them.

The Scout Promise:

On my honour, I promise that I will do my best to do my duty to God and to the Queen, to help other people and to keep the Scout Law.

The Scout Laws:

A Scout is to be trusted.

A Scout is loyal.

A Scout is friendly and considerate.

A Scout belongs to the world-wide family of Scouts.

A Scout has courage in all difficulties.

A Scout makes good use of time and is careful of possessions and property.

A Scout has self-respect and respect for others.
