"They're actually lovely and smooth and warm, mum - you try holding one"

"My hands are a bit full at the moment dear, I'll take your word for it........................."

The day the Beavers met the Reptiles again, with some Explorers to help out as well. Following the highly successful visit a couple of years ago, we invited the Reptile Roadshow back again just before Xmas, and things went even better the second time around. Quite a few of the reptiles were on their second visit as well, together with a few new additions, and the same noisy Toucan!

Some of the photos taken are shown below, but we can't put all of them up because there were over 90 altogether and we haven't got that much space on the server. Belinda has a CD of all of them, so if you're a Beaver parent or connected with the Group and would like a copy of the CD, please contact her at Beavers or email webmaster@badgerhillscouts.org.uk and we'll try and help.

Opening the show

Heard of metres, feet and even cubits, but measuring in Beavers?.......

One noisy Toucan being fed (with a grape if you're wondering)

I'd love to know what the snakes make of all this

Snake and Explorers getting it together

A variation on the traditional Scout Scarf, but do they come in royal blue with Gold edging?

Two person version of the revised scarf

One large black Scorpion! Bad news if you're putting on your boot and he's already in it ..... trust me

Fortunately Cockroaches found in this country come in much smaller sizes!

Which one's got the bigger smile; the lizard or the Beaver?

Right young Beaver, pay attention, I shall only say this once.....

We'd love to know just what this chap's thinking about - the Beaver, that is.

The Beavers are friends, just hope the reptiles are too!

Explorers Tom and Amy, and a large brown lizard.

The tortoise is making a return visit to Badger Hill, but he was a lot smaller last time. Beaver and tortoise are about the same age - 7.

Interesting headwear, if a bit fidgety.

One green rain-forest frog

Explorer Caitlin trying out the new all purpose Chinchilla fur hat for Duke of Edinburgh's expeditions

As we said above, these are just 18 out of over 90 pictures which cover all of the Beavers present that evening. Please get in touch if you want to see the others.
